SERVICES

Weekly Sessions: Short term or long term therapy to assist you in addressing a range of struggles including depression, anxiety, and addiction and recovery. My approach is highly interactive and focused on what is happening in the room right now. I work from a modality which is experiential in nature, while blending psychodynamic theory, an understanding of attachment and the effects of trauma, and neurophysiology.

Wellness Visit: Self-care consultations for those who are overwhelmed, stressed, or depleted, and seeking balance and well being. Using an integrative, holistic approach, I will help you learn to tune into emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. We will work together on a treatment plan that will take into account sleep, nutrition, exercise, spirituality, creativity, self-compassion, and mindfulness, to help you nourish yourself mentally and physically.

Creativity Consultation: Having a well of creativity that is blocked can often be painful and lead to symptoms. I offer one or more sessions for clients who want to expand and grow their creativity. Perhaps you want to get back to an artistic passion or explore a new medium, but are finding it difficult. We will work to help you to let go of criticism, improve your ability to focus, and make time and space for your creative work.

Addiction Services: 1. Consultation if you think you or a family member might have an addiction, but are not sure. 2. Therapy and support for family members of people with an addiction. 3. Therapy following Residential Treatment for substance abuse. The focus is on how to maintain a strong recovery program. We may explore issues of spirituality in recovery. If you have a dual diagnosis we will address your mental health symptoms and how these impact your recovery.

Anything that is mentionable is manageable.

Melanie believes that the most powerful part of therapy is sustained, mindful, attention to the client's experience -- by both the therapist and client herself. Melanie integrates guided meditation into therapy to support you in cultivating compassion for yourself, gaining clarity, and getting grounded as you let go of old patterns that are no longer serving you, and make room for the new.
